Adobe Standard 11 does not combine multi-sheet Excel files as easily as Standard 10 did. At work, we have 10 Excel files that we use to produce a monthly pdf report. These files are complex and contain many worksheets (sometimes 20 or more), but we only want to include one or two of these worksheets in the monthly pdf report.
In Standard 10, it was easy & you could select worksheets you wanted in your pdf report a couple different ways - you could click on filename from list of files & use Choose Sheets/Pages button at bottom of screen to select worksheets to include or you could double-click on page range & a Preview and Select Sheets box would pop up with a list of worksheets & a preview of file with worksheet tabs at bottom - you could choose worksheets you want from list or click the tabs from preview to select worksheets to include. All fairly easy though, you are selecting worksheets you want included from a list of some sort.
In Standard 11, lists appear to be gone. They have been replaced by unlabeled thumbnails that you must hover over to see which worksheet is which, and you must then select worksheets you want to exclude, rather than ones you want to include. So, if you have a 20-worksheet file and want to include two worksheets, you must hover over each of 20 thumbnails for worksheet name to appear and then select the 18 worksheets you do not want, rather than two worksheets you do want. Plus, it takes quite a while for thumbnails of these worksheets to load from network to even be available to select and delete.
Also, when combining Excel files, it defaults to selecting All Pages, even when "Convert Entire Excel Workbook" preference box NOT checked.
Adobe Tech Support did do their best to assist me. They verified it is indeed the way the software is now and not something I am missing or doing wrong. They said they would write it up and file a case, and I submitted an online Feature Request Form, hoping that it may be included in the update due out in Jan or Feb.
But, as of now, for what I use it for, they made it harder to use instead of easier, so Adobe Standard 11 gets only one star from me.

If you are editing and updating a PDF document or creating fillable PDF forms, you probably are using the full version Acrobat (not just the Reader) The full version allows you to create, edit and format PDF documents. There are other software packages from other makers that handle some PDF tasks, but Acrobat is the full editor/creator.
However, in the past, the editing feature has been somewhat awkward. Version XI has a revamped editor, a welcome change. There are two versions, Acrobat Pro (more typography, forms templates, creation and image handling compatibility--for those who are preparing professional publications) and Standard Acrobat (this version). Some features that are new in PRO are NOT available in the Standard Version.
If you currently use Acrobat, there are upgrade versions available to license holders of either Pro or Standard.
Some of the new changes:
1. Word Wrap as you edit a line in a paragraph.
2. Clicking on "Edit Text & Images" puts a border around the paragraph to highlight the paragraph being edited.
3. You can search or search/replace
4. There are formatting tools to justify the text
5. Image manipulation has been improved (you can rotate or flip images or replace them entirely.) If you want to do Photoshop image color manipulation, however, you need Acrobat XI Pro
6. Compatible with new "cloud" services" such as EchoSign (electronic signature handling)
Some things XI Standard won't do:
You still need to export a PDF to Word or other text processor to add text and new pagination because PDF files contain "objects" converted from text. So if you are adding text that pushes pagination over to a new page, you need to export.
The software is still complex, and it can be even more complex; there are multiple versions available for specific needs: BE CAREFUL--you may really require the PRO version. Here are some differences:
If you want to convert PDF to Powerpoint, you need the PRO version.
If you want to create new fillable forms with templates for FormsCentral, you need the Pro Version
Inserting audio, Adobe Flash Player-compatible videos, interactive media to be played back in Adobe Reader requires the PRO version
(In summary, if you are preparing professional documents, converting to PowerPoint, creating forms using templates, doing HTML web preparation or typography for publication, you should be using the Pro, not the Standard Version.)

The package came on time in a new shrink wrap. When I tried to install using the serial number on the DVD box the install program told me the serial number was invalid. I tried twice more with the same message. Tried using the Adobe on-line customer service chat line with several people using broken English. After three hours of being transferred to several different people still no luck. I finally gave up. I'll never deal with Adobe again.
